Treatment AngiomasAngiomas do not need to be treated unless they bleed or are bothering one. They can be treated with electrodessication, liquid nitrogen or laser. Electrosurgery - a minor surgical procedure during where a special electrical needle-like instrument is used to remove the angioma. Cryotherapy - freezing the affected area with liquid nitrogen. Laser vaporization - using an intense beam of light to remove the angioma. This technique involves minimal harm to surrounding skin tissue. Unless the lesion is particularly large (1/4 inch across or more), you can expect excellent cosmetic results. All three types of treatment have similar amounts of discomfort and usually give a good cosmetic result.
